The annual Chefs Collaborative Summit, Growing Community—Owning the Future, will be led by local chef Steven Satterfield. For its eighth consecutive year, the summit will draw upon the organization’s mission to inspire, educate and celebrate the impact of chefs and professionals creating better food systems. That means a weekend-long program of field trips, presentations and meals. Full-access and day-long passes are available, as well as “a la carte” options. On Saturday, chefs like Hugh Acheson and Kevin Gillespie will host field trips to farmers markets and farms, along with culinary demonstrations on skills like preservation and lamb break downs. On Sunday, breakout sessions on culinary topics like sustainable seafood, heritage grains and reducing food waste will be held at restaurants and venues around town including the Fox Theatre, Wrecking Bar Brewpub and Empire State South. Monday will bring a slew of speakers to the Atlanta Botanical Garden discussing the future of food.
