This late-night Buford Highway haunt is a stomping ground for such lauded DJs and producers as Ployd, Skymatic, Eddie Gold, and many more. Since opening its doors in 2010, the Sound Table has served as an essential spot for delicious dining and making moves on the dance floor. Midtown nightclub MJQ CONCOURSE is the perennial favorite in this category because there’s no place more dependable on a weekend night. Each week hundreds of people go for the swirling disco lights, hot guys and girls, large dance floor, and music that’s commercially palatable without hitting the lowest common denominator. A roster of capable resident DJs, special theme nights such as the “Saturday Party Sneak Attack,” and such out-of-town DJ stars as Flosstradamus and Girl Talk add to the unpredictable fun. less...

The predictably unpredictable nature of MJQ CONCOURSE keeps crowds rolling in. In theory, a “best dance club” has a huge dancefloor, but MJQ has a packed dancefloor, which is much more fun. Clubs don’t often age gracefully — in fact, most are lucky if they make it through the first year. But not MJQ. Between its regularly scheduled programming of Brit pop, hip-hop, reggae and rare grooves, the club manages to throw in weird theme nights like lingerie parties, blood wrestling, homecoming events and cowboys vs. ninjas (we can’t explain if you weren’t there). Plus, it books the hippest-of-the-hip DJs. No matter what the entertainment, though, a night at the Q, is almost always a damn good time. less...

How has a club operating beneath the ground and the radar managed to survive 10 years in a market that sees many clubs fold in 12 months? Don't ask the folks behind MJQ CONCOURSE, they'll never tell. They never answer the phone, and they barely advertise. Yet word of mouth has the city's hip chomping at the bit to return repeatedly to this retromodern rumpus room where national and international talent with impeccable credentials - the Roots' ?uestlove, Madlib + Peanut Butter Wolf, Jazzanova, to name a few - grace the decks, churning out tunes that whip the intimate sweat lodge into a fever dream. Barely a hint of the former Club Kaya remains in the dramatically renovated space, with a football-field size dance floor and a funky-but-functional front-of-bar lounge. The stark white walls and scarcely concealed lighting make for the perfect showcase for folks to break out some bling. Now that the stakes have been raised for late-night luxury, it'll be interesting to see who tries to top Vision's victories. "1068 Peachtree St., 404-874-4460. www.visionatlanta.com" less...

Despite its numerical name, ELEVEN50 doesn't play it by the numbers, offering an eclectic mix of world-renowned DJs, live music and multimedia extravaganzas. The curvaceo us converted theater, with its art space and Acqua-tic courtyard, has seen its fair share of "see and be scene" buzz, and the consistently high standards set by its music events have instilled loyalty in a discerning faction of Atlantans more interested in sounds than styles. Backstreet is Atlanta's members-only club open to everyone, provided you have an open mind. There's no guarantee it will have an open dance floor, though. It may have one of the largest, colorful, gay and straight floors in the city, but on the weekend, especially among the late-night crowd, it's pretty packed. But there's sure to be someone willing to share their space, which is part of the charm. Plus, it's probably the only place where it's acceptable, almost expected, that you enter at night and emerge bewildered in the daylight. less...
