    Panita Thai Kitchen (Permanently Closed)
Authentic as the Thai humidity is heavy, the dishes at Panita are served in carved fruits and look and tastes like vacation. The owner is a sake bomb pusher, but cares?

Whether you're a lover of smooth red, fiery green or mellow yellow, it's easy to appreciate the balance of heat - and heart - that goes into each of the curries at SPOON. And while we can gush all day about the addictive qualities of the Kang Dang with tofu or the Panang with shrimp, Spoon's noodles and specials (most notably the soft shell crabs) manage to live up to the hype that’s hogged by the signature curry dishes. Lucky for the residents of Ormewood Park, Grant Park and East Atlanta, 2009 saw the arrival of Spoon's Eastside location, meaning they now have to-die-for Massaman within stumbling distance. less...

There are about a zillion Thai restaurants in town and most of them taste alike. One notable exception is TAMARIND SEED, owned by chef Nan Niyomkul and her husband, Charlie. (They also operate the glitzier Nan Thai Fine Dining.) What sets chef Nan's cooking apart isn't the dishes themselves. Most of them are classics, such as masaman and panang curries (the green curry is particularly delicious). It's the complexity of sauces and layers of unexpected flavor that distinguishes the food here. There's also an energetic staff and, if you're lucky, Nan might be in the kitchen. The woman is a classy beacon of good feelings, and the food is suffused with her personality. less...

We know there are gourmet Thai spots in town, but they don’t produce the ever-changing array of specials that LITTLE BANGKOK does. Always check the specials board, but the classic green chili chicken remains our favorite dish here. It’s pure comfort food with a fiery bite. less...
