It’s down to one store now in Atlanta, but give LOEHMANN’S credit for updating its selection to include some of the hottest brands for the under-30 set — Theory, Moschino, Marc Jacobs, Versace, D&G — in addition to the usual work clothes for career gals. It’s livened up its jeans section with Diesel, Seven, Mavi and other of-the-moment brands and, for those with a little extra spending money, the chain now carries Kate Spade bags and shoes. If you’re rushed for time, however, head straight to the back room: Everyone knows that’s where the best stuff is.

With racks of clothing by hip and edgy designers such as Peter Som, Y&Kei, Catherine Malandrino and Great China Wall, the boutique is a fashionista’s godsend. With its large denim selection, independent designers’ jewelry, as well as bath products, home goods and candles, the lifestyle boutique is well worth a trip from any part of town. Check out the store’s Designer Wednesdays, a weekly event in which a different featured designer is marked down 20 percent.
