The AgLanta Conference is a dynamic urban agriculture conference, organized by Agritecture and hosted by the City of Atlantaâs Office of Resilience, to showcase urban and controlled environment agriculture (CEA) innovation, foster community engagementÂ and generate economic development.
Cities and companies around the world are recognizing the growing demand for local food coupled with an ever growing urban population. As a result, urban and controlled environment agriculture has emerged as a promising and viable solution. All forms of urban agriculture can work together to drive food access, economic development, as well as social, environmentalÂ and health benefits.
The AgLanta Conference will feature workshops and panels covering a range of critical Smart City topicsâeach with a particular focus on the multiple roles Smart Agriculture will play in making cities more efficient, resilientÂ and sustainable.
TheÂ A3C Music Festival and ConferenceÂ returns Wed.,Â Oct. 4,Â with a weeklong conference taking over the Loudermilk Center, Creative Media Industries Institute on campus at Georgia State University andÂ the Auburn Avenue Research Library. The weekend festival kicks off Sat.,Â Oct. 7, with theÂ Fool's Gold Day OffÂ party featuring performances by A-Track, Project Pat,Â Kodie Shane, and more.Â On Sun.,Â Oct. 8, the festivities come to a head with performances by Nas, Ghostface Killah, Just Blaze and more. Artists and entrpreneurs come together at this conference to discuss topics ranging from social media strategies to the gendered workings of the music industry. The event seeks to empower artists with the guidance of industry professionals.Â
The only thing missing from Atlanta's art scene is the combination of sugary carbs and alcohol, which is why the Pancakes and Booze Art Show is returning to the city this summer. The Pancakes and Booze Art Show was founded in 2009 to celebrate local artists, photographers and musicians and has been held in over 30 cities across the world. Their mission is to celebrate the work of artists "while they're still alive," and what best way to celebrate than with alcohol and pancakes?
