5 Play: ‘Run the Jewels 2’ drops early

Plus, Scotty ATL releases ‘Spaghetti Junction,’ and EarthGang’s got a new video.

ICYMI: Run the Jewels (Killer Mike and El-P) decided to release their album early. Mike told me Run the Jewels 2 would be “darker” because there was “a lot of shit to be pissed off about in the world,” and he and his partner-in-rhyme El-P have certainly delivered an exceptional follow-up to their debut. G’head and download it here.

EarthGang — “16 Albinos in the S.W.A.T.S.” (Video)

Trips to the desert can get trippy mane, just ask Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot who recently released the visuals for this track of their Shallow Graves for Toys project.

Richposlim x Father x KeithCharlesSpaceBar — Brawl EP
At 14 members strong, Awful Records is constantly putting out content, but this 3-track EP stood out with Richposlim’s aggressive, none-fucks-given delivery mixing well with Father’s relaxed chill, and KeithCharlesSpaceBar’s production laying the foundation for everything.

iNEEDFACE — “Wild Chile” (Remix) feat. Rittz

Go! Ricky Go! and Walt Live linked up with Rittz for the jam off the former’s Dick Brown’s Tall Tails of Foxy Cottontail. Per usual, Rittz adds his spit-fire raps to Ricky’s ballad that’s the epitome of what DJ Burn One often refers to as “country rap tunes.” Burn One also told me this remix will appear on his upcoming compilation dubbed, GREENWOOD.

Scotty ATL — Spaghetti Junction (Mixtape)
I’d been waiting on this tape since hearing “Nun But a Party”. The 29-year-old ATLien’s been consistently dropping quality projects in 2014, living up to pretty everything he talked about in his interview with CL last year. Download it here.
