“Life-affirming” is an overused descriptor for musical works, but how else can one describe “Marrow,” the closing number on Yob’s stunning 2014 album Clearing the Path to Ascend? After three massive slabs of earth-moving doom metal, “Marrow” soars in and not only shines a light on the Oregon trio’s prettier, melodic sides, it ties up the album’s intensely personal narrative about triumph over troubles. Strategic Warheads and another excellent Oregon doom band, Witch Mountain, open the show on Sat., March 28.
