Concord America teases upcoming E.P. with ‘So Gay’

Concord America’s newest garage-punk stomper is a preview of its forthcoming Post-Echo debut.

Despite its weak title, Concord America’s latest digital single, “So Gay,” finds the trio upping both its scuzzed-out garage and introspective pop game. The song is a teaser for the group’s Suns Out Guns Out CD EP, due out May 27 on Columbia, SC indie label Post-Echo. If this latest number is any indication, band mambers Ben Presley (vocals, guitar), and brothers Vinny (bass) and John Restivo (drums) are influenced by garage-punk contemporaries, such as CD release show headliners the Jacuzzi Boys.

Concord America, Jacuzzi Boys, and MammaBear play the Earl on Thurs., May 22. $10. 9 p.m. 488 The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-522-3950. www.badearl.com.
