Glen Iris opens for Seattle band, the Diminished Men tonight at Eyedrum and it’s their first show playing with bass player, scene vet Christy Montero. She’s been out of town for a minute but you may remember Montero from her stints performing with the Subsonics, D.I.C. (Dominicans In Control) and the Beach.

?
Until now Glen Iris’ whole dynamic has been built on a two guitar, drums and no bass approach to big, brash ’70s rock grandeur crafted by the hearts and minds of slapdash indie rock grownups, so this opens an entirely new door for them.

?
As for the Dimished Men, Randall Dunn has collaborated with everyone from Sunn O))) to the Sun City Girls. The Diminished Men create instrumental peaks and valleys of surf music and invisible soundtracks that evoke everything from Ennio Morricone’s old school Western sounds to Italian psychedelic horror masters, Goblin. Shephards also perform. $7. 9 p.m. Eyedrum. 404-522-0655.
