This South Georgia town celebrates the legacy of the Tiffany name with The Art of Tiffany, which features two collections: Lamps of Tiffany, an exhibit showing 43 lamps and two leaded-glass windows created by Louis Comfort Tiffany; and Quiet Elegance, an array of more than 400 pieces of 19th-century silver flatware and table setting designs produced by Tiffany & Co. from 1845-1905. Bakers and builders are no doubt getting geared up for Christmas while preparing to compete in the eighth annual Gingerbread House Competition. Entrants will make a house completely of edible products and deliver the abode Nov. 12 to the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, where it will be judged at 6 p.m. The edible dwellings will be on display Nov. 15-Dec. 29. The Junior League of Jackson isn’t wasting any time getting ready for the holiday season either. They’ve scheduled the Mistletoe Marketplace Nov. 8-10. More than 100 merchants from around the United States display their wares during this holiday shopping affair. There’s also a raffle, a coffeehouse (complete with desserts) and gift wrapping for items just purchased.
