As the host of the weekly radio show says before each taping, “You don’t have to be famous to be on Woodsongs — you have to be good!” The Woodsongs Old-Time Radio Hour, hosted by folk singer Michael Johnathon, is taped in front of a live audience each Monday and aired on more than 200 radio stations in 14 countries. The radio hour features grassroots independent artists performing live. If you can’t make it to see the Christmas decorations at Graceland over the holidays, don’t worry — the large Santa with his sleigh and reindeer and the life-size nativity scene will still be on display through Elvis’ birthday celebration Jan. 5-8. Celebrating the day the King was born will be fan club members and other admirers. Activities include performers Andy Childs, Terry Mike Jeffrey and the Alexander Band playing at Elvis Presley’s Memphis restaurant, 126 Beale St. Special evening tours of Graceland will be available, and the Elvis Presley Day proclamation ceremony is set for Jan. 8.
