What with all the hoopla surrounding the King Tut exhibition at Emory’s Michael C. Carlos Museum, you might be forgiven for not knowing about the museum’s quieter exhibition on view in the John Howett Gallery. MODERN TO CONTEMPORARY MASTERS: WORKS ON PAPER HIGHLIGHTS draws from the museum’s extensive permanent collection of drawings, photographs and prints. Although the collection reaches as far back as the early 15th century, the current exhibition focuses on 19th- and 20th-century treasures. A few new acquisitions sweeten the pot, as well as a Robert Smithson (he of the “Spiral Jetty”) drawing on view for the first time ever.
