Word - Beck-isms

Choice quotes from CNN’s newest host

Conservative radio talk-show personality Glenn Beck has been named host of a new hour-long show on CNN Headline News that will air weekdays at 7 p.m. as a lead-in to “Nancy Grace.” Not familiar with Beck? Here are a few of his more colorful statements.

“She has told the Westchester Journal News that ‘white people are devils. And should be gone. We should be away from those devils and we should still be in Africa.’ I will gladly send you a ticket. You want to go to Africa? I will personally purchase your airfare. I’ll do it. It’s one-way. You have to sign a contract that you will never return to the United States.”
Beck’s reaction to 7-year-old Autum Ashante’s poem “White Nationalism Put U In Bondage,” broadcast March 16 on “the Glenn Beck Program.”?

“You know, it took me about a year to start hating the 9/11 victims’ families? ... And I had such compassion for them, and I really wanted to help them. ... I don’t hate all of them, probably about 10 of them. And when I see a 9/11 victim family on television or whatever, I’m just like, ‘Oh, shut up!’ I’m so sick of them because they’re always complaining. And we did our best for them.”

“I’m supposed to feel bad for this guy. ... And I do feel bad for him. ... I can give him the benefit of the doubt on some of the statements, but ... not the collective whole. I’m beginning to really dislike this guy. ... Can you let your son’s body become the same temperature as your son’s head before you turn this into a political campaign against the president? Could you do that?”
