Beer Pick of the Week - Red Seal Ale

North Coast’s flagship beer is an American pale ale with a stiff hop backbone in the best tradition of West Coast breweries. It pours a slightly murky burnt orange with a sticky film of foam that seems to gently ooze energy. The aroma of pine and orange zest hit the nose, and a sip brings the taste of more citrus and a hint of cinnamon and allspice. The malts emerge slowly as the beer warms, caramel and vanilla combining with the hop spice to suggest a bundt cake, but with a bitter finish that balances it nicely. Perfect for a late summer barbecue. Currently on tap at Brick Store Pub, as well.
