Fiction Issue - CARMEN AGRA DEEDY

The Judges

Born in Havana but raised in Decatur, Cuban-American author Carmen Deedy is an internationally recognized author of children's literature. As a professional storyteller, she has appeared at such venues as the Kennedy Center, the New Victory Theater on Broadway and the Library of Congress. A National Public Radio contributor, she was Georgia's 1993 Children's Author of the Year and won a Parent's Choice Gold Award for her audio.
