?After receiving more than 300 proposals, Art on the Atlanta Beltline has its lineup for 2015. The south’s largest outdoor, temporary art exhibition — in its sixth year — will kickoff Sat., Sep. 12, with the Lantern Parade, and run through Sun., Nov. 15.
?
?This year’s event will include more than 100 works of visual and performing art, from sculpture, dance, and murals, to theater, outdoor concerts, and musical performances. Art on the Beltline is also including pieces from local schools Georgia Tech, Emory University, and Savannah College of Art and Design. Exhibition vets William Massey and Fly on a Wall are slated to return, and there’s also some collaborations with #weloveatl and Tiny Doors ATL. Other highlights include muralists Addison Karl and Emmanuel Jarus, and a Bollywood performance.
?
?In light of various discussions surrounding social and civil injustice this year, the work included in Art on the Beltline, speaks to some of these past and present dialogues. Locations for the visual installations and performances are as follows: on the Northern Eastside interim hiking trail between Montgomery Ferry Road and Monroe Drive; the Eastside Trail between Monroe Drive and Irwin Street; Southern Eastside interim hiking trail between Kirkwood Avenue and Memorial Drive.
?
?“This exhibition continues to give the Atlanta community an opportunity to experience art while encouraging the public to interact and connect along the Atlanta BeltLine,” said Camille Russell Love, the executive director of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA),said in a statement.
