DULY NOTED:

THE BALLAD OF GENESIS AND LADY JAYE (NR) This documentary spotlights a fascinating love story between Genesis P Orridge, a celebrated figure in the Punk and art community, and his lover Lady Jaye (born Jacqueline Breyer). In 2000, Genesis began a series of sex reassignment surgeries in order to more closely resemble his lover. Calling this project ‘Creating the Pandrogyne,’ it was his intention to deconstruct their two individual identities through the creation an invisible third identity. Composed with home movies and sometimes intentionally shot with a handheld camera, this film is an intimate look at a fascinatingly different love story. April 6-12 at UA Tara Cinemas 2345 Cheshire Bridge Road NE’’
BOY (NR) Originally inspired by his Oscar-nominated short, Two Cars, One Night Taika Wititi’s film is set in a rural Maori community on the eastern coast of New Zealand. After not seeing his father for a number of years, the child soon realizes that his father is a bit of a lovable loser, and that he can have a better life than his father’s if he wants too.
