’’THE GUILT TRIP (PG-13): Seth Rogen plays Andy, who is about to embark on a road trip to sell a new product he has created. Making a quick stop at his mother’s (Barbara Streisand) house before he embarks on his trip, Andy feels guilty about his mother being all alone and invites her along. Despite her overbearing nature, Andy begins to realize that some motherly advice and love might be just what he needed.
JACK REACHER (R): Tom Cruise plays Jack Reacher, a deadly ex-military police officer, in this adaptation of Lee Child’s novel One Shot ‘’. When a former military sharp shooter allegedly kills five people, after his arrest he only has three simple words: ‘Get Jack Reacher.’ Enlisted as a private investigator by the shooter’s attorney, Reacher is asked to uncover what really happened the day those five lives were lost. Regarded as dangerous, like a time bomb waiting to go off, Jack Reacher ignores laws and rules when searching for the truth.
THIS IS 40 2 stars, (R): Judd Apatow expands on the characters Debbie and Pete from Knocked Up’’ in a brand new film about making marriage work. Now at the ripe age of 40, Debbie decides that if her and Pete don’t try to actively work at their relationship, they might never solve their problems. Starring the usual cast of suspects in an Apatow film, this rom-com takes some jabs at the difficulties and struggles of marriage.

ANY DAY NOW (R): When a young child, suffering from Downs Syndrome, lands in the care of a drag queen performer and a lawyer who is still in the closet, the mismatched couple quickly fall in love with their newly adopted son. Battling for custody of the child while his junkie-mother is stuck in prison, their relationship comes into question in a time when gay marriage and relationships are few and far between. Struggling to do what is right for the child, while protecting their own images, this couple fights for the right to raise their son. Based on a true story, Alan Cumming delivers a chillingly good performance as the drag queen who stands up for what is right. Midtown Art Cinema, 931 Monroe Drive.’’

ELF (PG): One Christmas Eve, when Santa is delivering presents to children at an orphanage, a baby climbs out of his crib and into Santa’s sack. After making his deliveries to all the good children in the world, Santa returns to the North Pole, only to discover the infant who crawled into his sack. Not knowing what to do, an elderly elf agrees to adopt the child and raise it as his own. When the boy, named Buddy has grown into a man, he accidentally overhears a conversation revealing that he is a not an elf but a human. Buddy sets out to find his Dad and discover his real place in the world. Struggling to adjust to life outside of the North Pole, Buddy’s Christmas spirit sometimes gets on peoples nerves, but in the end his holiday cheer ends up saving the day. MONSTERS INC. (3D) (PG): In Pixar’s classic film, Monster’s Inc envisions a world behind children’s closet doors where all monsters are actually working in their own world, scaring children as a job. Using the children’s screams to generate electricity to power their city, Monstropolis, these monsters rely on scaring children for their own livelihood. Sulley, a fury, blue horned monster, is on the brink of setting a new record for most scares. Everything is going well, until one day a little girl named Boo follows Sulley back into the monster world. Sulley and his partner Mike are sent on a whirlwind of an adventure attempting to get Boo back home. The movie has been redone in 3D by Pixar and is being re-released in multiple theaters around Atlanta.
