ON SATURDAY

›› The Atlanta Opera presents the sixth annual 24-Hour Opera Project, as five randomly picked teams of lyricists, composers, stage directors, singers, and accompanists put together a live opera performance in less than 24 hours, with the showcase event set for Sat., April 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the ScadShow in Midtown. Starting Fri., April 1, teams of composers and lyricists from across the country write an opera in 12 hours, based on a single, randomly drawn line from one of Shakespeare’s poems or plays. The compositions are given to the stage directors who have 12 hours to present their operas. A panel of local judges pick the winner, and the audiences vote for the Audience Choice Award.
