Atlanta has one of the best comedy scenes in the country, and each week is filled with plenty of opportunities to see local comics and visiting national touring acts. He’s your best bets for getting into some funny business.

?Mon., Aug. 31
======It’s the last Monday of the month which means it’s time for another great brewery show: Comedy Night at Second Self. Hosted by Travis Jones, this monthly show brings a handful of local comics to one of Atlanta’s best craft breweries for just $15. Admission also includes a souvenir glass and six tasting tokens. This month’s show features local favorites such as Samm Severin, Ben Palmer, and William Miracle. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; show at 7 p.m.

? >> Afterwards, you have plenty of time to head to Little Five for Monday Night Comedy at Star Bar. This free show kicks off at 9:30 p.m., and always one hell of a time. This week’s show will feature a very special guest I can’t reveal, so come see for yourself who it is and why Star Bar makes Monday the best day of the week!

? Tue., Sep. 1
======This Tuesday is the debut of a new show at Smith’s Olde Bar. Hosted by John-Michael Bond and David Perdue, the Happy Hour Comedy Hour, is a weekly showcase that kicks off at 7 p.m. The $5 admission cost comes with a cup for the show’s keg! The first show features a stellar line-up that includes Mia Jackson (NBC’s “Last Comic Standing”) headlining.

? >> Later in Old Fourth Ward, the Hangar is hosting a very special show featuring the hilarious Sean Patton. Patton has appeared on “Conan,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” “Inside Amy Schumer,” and had his own Comedy Central “Half Hour” in 2013. The BYOB show starts at 9 p.m.; tickets are $10. It’s not often you get to see a comedian of this caliber for so cheap; take advantage of it.

Wed., Sep. 2We all know band-aids don’t fix bullet holes, so come watch comics, writers, musicians, and more air their grievances and sing their praises of the one and only Taylor Swift at Song Missing Presents: ATLAN-TAYTAY! Performers such as Jeffrey Stephenson, Olive Lynch, Cherith Fuller, and more will all perform sets inspired by a Taylor Swift song backed up by house bandleader Noel Stephen. Doors open at 8 p.m., at the Village Theatre; show at 9 p.m. $10. Don’t you dare miss it or T-Swift will write a bitter song about you and it’ll be catchy as hell.

? Thur., Sep. 3Two of ATL’s most popular shows collide Thursday at a very special edition of Ladie’s Night. The stand-up/sketch showcase will again feature comedic short films from the comedy and film communities as well as brand new sketches from the Ladie’s Night crew. In addition, this month will be an extra special “cross-over” show with one of Atlanta’s more original and fun shows, Dungeon. Game Master Remi Truer will lead a live role-playing game with the hosts of Ladie’s Night, Brian Emond, Joel Ruiz, and Zach Lamplugh. Show starts at 10:30 p.m., at the Village Theatre and is absolutely free.

? The Weekend  Fresh off making the first season of his new TV show, TruTV’s “Those Who Can’t,” Adam Cayton-Holland headlines the Improv. Cayton-Holland is a member of the Denver comedy group the Grawlix which also features his “Those Who Can’t” co-creators Andrew Orvedahl and Ben Roy. The comedian has performed on “Conan,” “The Pete Holmes Show,” and Comedy Central’s “@Midnight.” He also hosts the fantastic podcast, “My Dining Room Table,” and recently released his second album, Backyards, earlier this year. Cayton-Holland headlines five shows Thursday through Saturday.

? >> On Saturday night, you have two chances to see Jim Jeffries at the Buckhead Theatre. You might have seen the Australian comic on FX’s “Legit,” or one of his many stand-up specials including his most recent one, Bare, which premiered on Netflix in 2014. Jeffries headlines two shows at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., respectively. Tickets are going fast, so don’t be lazy.

? >> Whatever you decide to do Saturday, make sure you cap the night by going to the 1AM Secret Show at Smith’s Olde Bar. In addition to seeing some of the best Atlanta comics (all for free), almost every show features special surprise guests. You never know who’ll be there … Show starts at 1am, hence.
