The Series Cynic: Braves sweep alumni team

The Braves have gone 34-14 since that forgettable nine-game losing streak in late April, but a familiar face looking to rejoin the team is struggling to regain his 2009 form and if Atlanta wants to further distance itself from the rest of the division, “JJ” needs to snap out of it.

Cynicism Lineup:
1. Jair Jurrjens
2. Dayton Moore
3. Troy Glaus

—Kenshin Kawakami isn’t very good.

But with the return of staff ace Jair Jurrjens seemingly on the not-to-distant horizon, Braves fans may not be subject to Kawakami’s batting practice performances for much longer.

And with “KK” out of the fifth spot, the rotation should look something like this:
Hudson (2.34 ERA)
Hanson (86 Ks)
Jurrjens (2.60 ERA in 2009)
Lowe (9 wins)
Medlen (3.49 ERA in 8 starts)

Not too bad, right? Sure, if Jurrjens can return to form.
