ATLwood: ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ is (probably!) not filming in Atlanta

We think.

Filming Updates:
>> ICYMI, filming on Selma wrapped earlier this month. We’ve got the Oprah to prove it.

>> Insurgent production photo update: here’s co-star Ansel Elgort outside Hartsfield. And here’s Justine Wachsberger, all made up as a Dauntless.

>> “The Walking Dead,” which has filmed in the city for most of this summer, is back in Senoia, Ga. Which is not great news for residents who do not like being encased in 15-foot walls!

>> USA’s “Satisfaction”, which premiered last night, filmed earlier this week at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

>> “The Vampire Diaries” has started production on season 6 and shot in Decatur yesterday, according to casting notices.

>> According to reports, something was filming last weekend at the corner of Peachtree Street and Peachtree Place, and created too much of a stir to be “TWD.”

Sightings:
>> Actor and former Atlanta resident Boris Kodjoe is having a charity tennis event this Sunday at what has become the city’s tennis mecca, Atlantic Station. It’s free!

>> Kandi, (you know her as the best/only part of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” right now), was at the Atlanta stop on Beyoncé/Jay-Z’s On the Run tour.

>> Here’s Woody Harrelson (and his mustache!) at the Ivy last weekend. Harrelson is in town for Triple Nine.

Castings:
>> Patrick Wilson, costarring in the forthcoming Ant-Man, needs a stand in. The casting agency warns: Wilson has “the most beautiful blue eyes one has ever seen.” Send photos and info to nlcstandin at gmail.com and put “Patrick” in the subject.

Miscellany:
>> This is the worst prank in the history of pranks. People have spotted Star Wars: Episode VII production signs along Moreland Avenue, Freedom Parkway, and closer to Little Five Points. The rumor is that some second-unit work has been done at Pinewood Studios. Then again, there are a lot of rumors about the next Star Wars, so best to just enjoy them as speculation/dreams and not as fact.

>> Dwayne Johnson would not like to say that his upcoming turn in Fast & Furious 7 will be his final film in the franchise. But, um, he’s not not saying that either: “I don’t know.”

>> “The Bachelorette” is almost, almost over; in two weeks, the final two will come to Atlanta (on our TV’s). Neither of the finalists is from Georgia except (spoiler) Josh Murray, who is actually from Florida, but really likes Athens, according to anyone I know who knows him.
