Atlantans are pretty proud of the Beltline, and it appears that our nation’s government has faith in it too. The project has received a $100,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the funds of which are to go toward advancing the design on a new permanent stage structure, a landscaped exhibit space, and an elevated park connection to some of the best views Atlanta has to offer.

The Reynoldstown Stage is located on the southeast portion of Atlanta Beltline. The project itself seeks to design not only a community destination, but one that is situated on a site with unique topography and cultural value. Mockups for the Reynoldstown Stage reveal an artistically inspired, futuristic stage space with room for community events and concerts.

“With this funding, we are continuing to bring new art to Atlanta and helping to create a cultural landmark, enriching and galvanizing the Atlanta BeltLine communities,” says Camille Russell Love, executive director of the city’s Office of Cultural Affairs.

This is the fourth year that the national government has funded the Our Town grant program, which strives to develop communities through art, responsible land-use, and education. Atlanta is one city out of 38 other states that was awarded a grant this year.
