Chef de cuisine E.J. Hodgkinson will leave Woodfire Grill and assume the role of executive chef at JCT. Kitchen in January. “I’ve gotten to know E.J. through various culinary events and I’ve always thought he was an incredibly talented chef,” JCT. owner Ford Fry said in a release, “I think this is a great opportunity for both the restaurant and E.J. and I’m looking forward to seeing his influence reflected throughout the menu and cuisine.”

A drive-thru burger joint brought to you by the crew behind the Mix’d UP food truck opens today at 313 Boulevard in the former Bucc’s BBQ space in Grant Park. Despite launching on a Monday, The Mix’D UP Truck Stop will be open Tues.-Sat., 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; 4-9 p.m.


Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano is now open. The take-out chicken stand operating out of the building adjacent to Antico Pizza at 1099 Hemphill Ave. will serve 100 orders of traditional Italian chicken dishes beginning at 5 p.m. nightly.
