The restaurant is on the moral march
Wow! Talk about hitting the jackpot! P.J. Yurish of Martinsburg, WV, was recently named that city’s “biggest fan” of Chick-fil-A. His prize? A trip to the company’s headquarters in Atlanta with his wife:
“It felt like we won the Super Bowl or we were going to Disneyland. They love you from the heart,” Yurish said. “I’d go back there before I’d go back to Disney World.”
Yurish met and got his picture with Truett Cathy, received a goodie bag and toured the home office and the first restaurant Truett owned, the Dwarf Grill. Yurish and guests were also treated to a buffet of Chick-fil-A favorites, as well as specialty items such as pulled pork and banana pudding.
“We didn’t want to leave,” Yurish said. “My wife said if it wasn’t for my grandson we would move down there....”
Patheos, a progressive Christian website, frequently posts something called the Biblical Family Instruction of the Day. I assume these are parodies. Here’s the one for Dec. 21:
Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy: “We support biblical families.”
Today’s Chick-fil-A Biblical Family of the Day: “Send away all these wives and their children” (Ezra 10:1-5).
Sounds good. Praise the Lord and expel them foreign wives and kids (read the Ezra quote) so they can never eat another Chick-fil-A sandwich....
The Chick-fil-A Bowl is scheduled here Dec. 31. LSU punter Brad Wing has been suspended from the game against Clemson for reasons that remain undisclosed at this writing. He joins five others who have been suspended, mainly for not meeting academic qualifications. Last year, seven were suspended.
I suspect that Chick-fil-A learned that Wing recently stole away to Massachusetts to marry a boyfriend in a pagan wedding ceremony....
Speaking of which, Chick-fil-A has closed its location on Gay Street in Knoxville....
