With more than 40 hand-picked local restaurants ranging from Buford Highway hot spots to fine dining establishments, Atlanta Eats Live returns to Verizon Amphitheater this Sun., Oct. 5, to celebrate Atlanta’s dining scene. Like last year’s event, which raised upward of $10,000 for charity, a portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit the Giving Kitchen, the Atlanta nonprofit that provides crisis grants to restaurant industry workers.

This year’s lineup of participating restaurants includes, ahem, several CL Best of Atlanta 2014 Critics Picks winners: Kimball House (Best new restaurant), St. Cecilia (Best seafood), and Readers Picks: Bhojanic (Best Indian), Nuevo Laredo Cantina (Best Mexican), Kevin Rathbun Steak (Best steak), Gu’s Bistro (Best Chinese), Seed Kitchen and Bar (Best OTP restaurant), and the Iberian Pig (Best overall restaurant and Best tapas).

Heading into its fifth season airing on PeachtreeTV, “Atlanta Eats” has featured more than 100 area restaurants. Hosts Steak Shapiro and Mara Davis, both longtime voices of Atlanta radio, will emcee the second annual foodie extravaganza.

Don’t forget to bring your captain hat and/or dancing shoes. The musical stylings of Yacht Rock Schooner start at 8 p.m. This year the group’s entire set of smooth ’70s and ’80s hits will be food and drink themed. Any requests? Not gonna lie, we’re hoping for “The Piña Colada Song.”
