Art Boxes artist: Tori Tinsley

Tori Tinsley is an artist, art therapist and licensed professional counselor who lives and works in the East Atlanta Village.

Image Although originally from Atlanta, Tori earned her BFA in Painting & Drawing from the University of Michigan School of Art & Design. After college, Tori obtained a Masters of Art in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and currently works as an art therapist with Jewish Family & Career Services.

In 2010, Tori founded the Mom’s Laugh Project, which seeks to raise awareness of frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) through artwork. Tori’s mother was diagnosed with this fatal disease in 2009 and Tori has been an advocate for research and caregiver support ever since. The Mom’s Laugh Project offers patrons the opportunity to take a stand against the effects of dementia and 20% of all sales benefit the Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration (www.theaftd.org).
