Former AJC entertainment reporter Jewel Wicker moderates.

Unpacking Manuel’s Tavern site launch

Manuel’s Tavern - 602 N. Highland Ave. N.E. Atlanta, GA 30306 Free. 7 p.m.

The Unpacking Manuel’s Tavern project is an “interactive archive of materials that adorn the walls of Manuel’s Tavern” that began in 2015 before the watering hole began renovations. The Unpacking team scanned, photographed and otherwise recorded each bit of memorabilia on the longstanding meeting place’s walls and eventually uploaded their information to Omeka to allow individuals to interact with the artifacts and stories of Manuel’s Tavern. Site visitors can browse artifacts, explore the walls in high-resolution, take 360-degree photo and video tours, experience a virtual reconstruction and read or listen to stories and essays.
