Spalding Nix’s summer show features Kyle “BlackCatTips” Brooks’ A Bowl Full of Happiness. Brooks is a Southern “folk street artist” known for his paintings and murals, as well as his unique storytelling ability, bright colors and found materials. The show also feature the work of Edward Rice, Will Kay and Ben Smith.

 

Wednesday wine tasting

Atmosph̬re -1620 Piedmont Ave. Atlanta, GA 30324 $25. 7 p.m.

Atmosphere holds a wine tasting the first Wednesday of every month. The tasting features wines from all of the world and you don’t have to be a sommelier to enjoy them. Reservations are required.

 

Blackberry Daze sneak peek

Horizon Theatre - 1083 Austin Ave. N.E. Atlanta, GA 30307 Free. 7 p.m.

Blues music and theater are never a bad combination, especially when it comes to Horizon Theatre’s newest musical, Blackberry Daze. Set at the end of World War I, director Thomas W. Jones II whisks the audience between juke joints and rural farms following the trials and triumphs of Herman Camm, a womanizer and gambler. Join the cast and creative team for interviews and a preview of the show before it opens on July 14.
