Soccer in the Streets’ Fundraising tournament brings together teams representing eight different countries from around the world. The array of teams includes the U.S., Great Britain, Jamaica, Ireland and more.The nonprofit supports community programs for underserved children in public schools throughout Atlanta.

 

Late Late Breakfast

The Highland Inn Ballroom Lounge - 644 N. Highland Ave. N.E. Atlanta, GA 30306 $5-$10. 2 p.m.

Chicago-based comedians Tyler Jackson and Danny Maupin, co-creators and hosts of touring comedy show Late Late Breakfast, bring together the best comedians at each stop to give audiences one weird Sunday afternoon. A variety of local stand-up stars, including Ian Aber, Amber North, CL comedy scribe Olivia Cathcart and a dozen more, will be tasked with challenges designed to create a comedy show unlike any other. Whether participating in an audience-wide baseball game, popping balloons while telling jokes or having a pie fight, the afternoon will be full of twists and turns. It’s never too late for the most important meal of the day.

 

Michael C. McCarthy: Extreme Agent and Extreme Talk Show Workshops

The Creative Circus - 812 Lambert Drive N.E. Atlanta, GA 30324 $60-$125. 2 p.m.

Each workshop is a three-hour rocket-sled ride fueled with detailed instructions, true stories and thorough handouts that tell you exactly how to break into television from the accomplished writer who broke the mold.

 

Life’s A Dream

ART Station - 5384 Manor Drive Stone Mountain, GA 30083 $19-$28. 3 p.m.

This 1960’s Doo Wop musical follows Denny and the Dreamers, a doo-wop singing group in Springfield as they get ready to enter the Big Whopper Radio contest. The group is shaken up by the arrival of Lois, who has come to help them realize their dream of making it big. Presented by Stone Mountain’s ART Station, Life’s a Dream is the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critic’s Circle Best Musical Award.

 

Zanna, Don’t!

Out Front Theatre - 999 Brady Ave. N.W. Atlanta, GA 30318 $20. 8 p.m.

What would high school have been like if all the social roles were reversed? In Zanna, Don’t!, Heartsville High is just such a place, where the chess geeks rule the school and straight people are in the minority. When a student-written play about straight people in the military titled Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell leads a girl and a boy to fall in love, the musical fairy Zanna must get involved, using his magic to bring universal love to the world of Heartsville High. Zanna, Don’t! finds a home at Out Front Theatre Company, which dedicates itself to sharing stories of LGBTQ experiences through theater and performing arts.
