5 things to do: The Shins - November 15 2017

Start your weekend off right - a few things happenin' around town this Friday.

The Shins

RAIIN Dance Theater: in Human

Ferst Center for the Arts - 350 Ferst Drive N.W. Atlanta, GA 30332. $22. 8 p.m.

in Human is a celebration and examination of Black culture through the lens of spoken word, contemporary trap music, jazz and hip hop. The physical, high-energy movement of the RDT dancers juxtaposed with the familiar Atlanta cityscape embodies the human connection between art and social justice, all set to a score of classical and contemporary sounds of the Black experience.

The Santaland Diaries

A holiday comedy, written by NPR comic genius David Sedaris, stars Crumpet, a rebel without a Clause who recounts the true-life tale of an out-of-work writer's stint as a Macy's Department Store elf.

Second Self Beer Company - 1317 Logan Circle N.W. Atlanta, GA 30318. 6-9 p.m.
