BUTTERED UP: Chef Virginia Willis leads a previous year's Simple Abundance Class for the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Just in time for Thanksgiving comes the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s Giving Thanks Simple Abundance Class, a demonstration-based class led this year by James Beard Award-winning chef Virginia Willis and famed cooking show host Nathalie Dupree. The talented pair will teach attendees how to make autumn favorites like spinach and feta dip, turnip gratin, two ingredient biscuits, pecan biscuit dressing, collard greens with tomato onion gravy, herb roasted turkey with apple cider gravy and sweet potato bread pudding with peanut streusel and caramel sauce. Expect an interactive environment with plenty of tasting, not to mention wine, cookbook signings, and prizes at the door. Proceeds from the event go directly to the Atlanta Community Food Bank and its mission to provide hunger relief. The local nonprofit distributes meals to those in need and works with communities around the Metro Atlanta area on food education and economic security.
