Things are irie in East Atlanta. Jamaican fast-casual concept Festivals Jerk Chicken Grill opened this past Tuesday in Glenwood Park (925 Garrett St.). Menu items include jerk chicken, tacos, flatbread, fried cassava, and jerk wings.

OG deli babe Robin Santos announced on social media that she’ll be leaving her post as deli manager for Candler Park Market at the end of this year to spend more time in North Georgia, where she now lives. “The most important thing I need to do before I leave is hire a new chef,” Santos wrote on Facebook. “I’ve spent the last year planning the restaurant concept for CPM’s sister location Grant Park Market. It’s a unique concept. I would love to talk in more detail with anyone interested and please spread the word!”



Beni’s Cubano opens June 5 at the Avenue East Cobb with a menu created by Puerto Rican chef Cesar Velazquez. Conceived by Southern Hospitality Group (Tin Lizzy’s, Gypsy Kitchen, Smokebelly, Milton’s), Beni’s serves a menu of Cuban sandwiches, empanadas, yucca fries and Cuban cocktails.

Polish street food in Atlanta? Yep. Chicago’s Maxwell Street-Styled Polish is taking over 211 Peachtree St. in Castleberry Hill for a to-go only spot serving Chicago classic buns filled with fried Polish sausage, onions and peppers

New beers are here! Georgia’s oldest craft brewery, Red Brick Brewing Co., recently added a third seasonal beer to their core line. Zest in Show, available June through September, is a citrus farmhouse ale brewed with lemon and tangerine. Meanwhile, Second Self Beer Company tapped kegs of Margarita Gose, a spinoff of their popular Maverick and Gose. The 4.3 ABV easy-drinker is made with Florida orange peel and fresh squeezed lime.



Boozy summer pops are on the menu at Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse in Phipps Plaza. Pastry chef Qiana Davis makes these booze-infused treats by hand in flavors like limoncello, blueberry with Prosecco and peach, and raspberry with ros̩.

Along with this week’s groundbreaking of their new West End brewery, the Garage, Monday Night Brewing has announced a $100,000 in 100 days charity initiative. Through donated meeting/event space and beer, they propose to help local non-profits. Mayor Kasim Reed helped debut both ventures this past Tues., May 30.
