Little Tybee and Nse Ufot added to #ActivateATL lineup

C4 Atlanta aims to promote voting in November’s mayoral election

As previously announced, C4 Atlanta is hosting a free concert, #ActivateATL, Sat., Aug. 5, at the Masquerade to promote voting in November’s mayoral election. Joining jazz singer/songwriter Chantae Cann, who had been announced in June, is local six-piece Little Tybee. Nse Ufot of the New Georgia Project is the first featured speaker to be revealed for the evening as well.

Fresh off a U.S. tour, folk and chamber pop ensemble Little Tybee will co-headline #ActivateATL. The group’s self-titled fourth album, which crowdsourced via a $20,000 Kickstarter campaign, highlights the group’s eclectic style.

As Executive Director of the New Georgia Project, whose mission is to engage and register Georgia’s eligible but unregistered African American, Latinx and Asian American populations, Ufot is a passionate advocate for voter rights. A naturalized citizen originally born in Nigeria, Ufot has witnessed the changes of the swift changes of Georgia’s population while growing up in Southwest Atlanta.

C4 Atlanta aims to encourage young voters through #ActivateATL to “influence the future of the city in whatever way aligns with their personal values.” The non-profit arts service organization’s concert will feature live music, speakers and voting information for attendees. Tickets for the all ages event are free with an online pledge to vote.

Little Tybee and Chantae Cann play the Masquerade on Sat., Aug. 5. Doors open at 7 p.m. Show starts at 8 p.m. 75 MLK Jr Dr. S.W. 404-577-8178. www.masq.com.
