Atlanta mayoral candidates campaign with Reddit

Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders did it; so why not local politicos?

How do you do, fellow kids?: Atlanta mayoral candidates Cathy Woolard and Sen. Vincent Fort recently took to the web to engage prospective voters on Reddit. In their AMAs (ask me anythings), the Hizzoner hopefuls fielded inquires on affordable housing, homelessness, and marijuana, among other subjects.

Fort’s digital interview came a few days after Woolard’s, which begs the question: Will other mayoral contenders jump online to talk shop with Redditors. Barack Obama pumped out a triumphant AMA half a decade ago, which remains one of the website’s most popular posts of all times. And U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, too, hit the keyboard to engage possible vote-casters during his presidential bid.
