Elections officials in Fulton and DeKalb counties today certified the results of Atlanta's mayoral runoff race. It looks like Councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms is still poised to succeed Mayor Kasim Reed, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Notwithstanding, Bottoms' runoff rival, Councilwoman Mary Norwood, still plans to request a recount, although a recent press conference with Fulton's elections czar Richard Barron leads us to believe that double-checking the tally won't do Norwood any favors.

Norwood has 48 hours to file for a recount, lest Bottoms claims the city's chief seat.
