Every cool dad’s favorite new wave band, the Talking Heads were at the height of their career when they released 1983’s Speaking in Tongues. While touring to support the album, the band recorded one of the most acclaimed live concert films of all time, titled Stop Making Sense, after a repeated line from the song “Girlfriend is Better.” New wave hero David Byrne sets off the film with a stripped-down delivery of “Psycho Killer,” accompanied only by his acoustic guitar and a boombox drum machine. At the start of each song, Byrne is incrementally joined by other members of the band, extended to include members of Parliament-Funkadelic and the Brothers Johnson, for a high-energy rendition of their most iconic tracks. Yacht Rock Revue is well-known for its impeccable tribute performances, but the group has a big suit to fill with this one.
