Grillin’ and Chillin’ returns to Emory Point. Head to the green space near The General Muir Thurs, May 24  from 6:30-9 p.m.for grilling, signature cocktails, beer, Montane Sparkling Spring Water, and live music. Chef Todd Ginsberg (The General Muir) will be cooking beer can chicken tacos on a Big Green Egg as Armand Starks (The General Muir) shakes up some killer cocktails. All proceeds benefit American Cancer Society Hope Lodge.

Release the hounds! Drafts + Dogs, the crew behind 18.21 Bitters, is now open in the former Simply Seoul spot in Ponce City Market. The hot dog stand features drafts, frozen cocktails, and cheeky plays on the hot dog. Here’s a combo for you:  “I’m so Fancy (You Already Know)” dog with lobster, truffle butter, and caviar with a “That’s so Fetch” frozen rosé.

We didn’t even notice that Todd English Tavern at Live! At the Battery closed, and it’s kind of sad. Tomorrow’s News Today first reported the closure, which happened at the end of March. The space is being taken over by Sports and Social, providing additional seating.

That crazy cucumber contraption from Hendrick’s Gin is back in town. The Grand Garnisher truck will be slicing and garnishing cocktails Thurs., May 16 at Costco Charity Golf Tournament (401 Moreland Ave.) from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. and Fri., May 17 at The Glenwood from 8 a.m.-10 p.m.

Restaurateur Guy Wong (Miso Izakaya, Le Fat, Ton Ton) is opening Miso Ko this summer at Ponce City Market. In an adjoining space next to Ton Ton, the kiosk will have barstool seating and a grab and go counter with made to order sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls, and salads.

Important dates to mark on your calendar: May 25 is National Wine Day. Cheers!

There is a new top dog at South City Kitchen Buckhead (3350 Peachtree Road N.E.). Simon Young, who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand, brings 20 years culinary experience to the kitchen. No word yet if Marmite or fairy bread will be added to the menu.

Pop-Up alert! Baker Sarah Dodge (formerly 8Arm) will be back at Little’s Food Store in Cabbagetown this Sat., May 19. Bread is Good begins at 9 a.m.-1 p.m. with grab and go goodies and “oodles of buttermilk biscuit sandwiches.”

Yamas! Vasilios “Billy” Liakakos (Peachtree Diner, Sage Woodfire Tavern, and Spice Brick Oven Kitchen) is opening Vas Kouzina (942 Alpharetta St.) in downtown Roswell, which will feature a meny of Greek fare. They’re also actively hiring employees for all positions!

There’s a mudbug shindig planned at The Optimist (914 Howell Mill Road). Ford Fry’s Westside patio gets taken over by a Louisiana-style crawfish boil on Sun., May 20 from 2-5 p.m. Tickets are $43 and cover food (including gator tail) and two drinks (like their House Punch). Live Cajun music will keep the mood light on the lawn.

Happy 20th anniversary to Alpharetta’s Ray’s at Killer Creek (1700 Mansell Road). Executive Chef Mike Fuller is celebrating with a new menu that has a more traditional steakhouse format.

There’s a new seasonal cider at Urban Tree Cidery (1465 Howell Mill Road N.W.). Good Karma, made from locally grown mint, pomegranates, and apples from Cathy Family Orchard, is available now at the tasting room through summer.

Woodlands Circle, the members only beer club from SweetWater’s Woodlands Project is beginning its second series of membership. Members will receive six bottles of experimental barrel-aged beers, special glassware, a $25 pre-paid bar tab at Sweetwater, a 10 percent discount on SweetWater merch, and first crack at SweetWater events.
