SHUT THE CLUCK UP: Hattie B's opens Thurs., July 11 on Moreland Ave.

Good news from good people. Sarah O’Brien (Little Tart) and Paul Calvert
(Ticonderoga Club) rallied Atlanta restaurants to help RAICES, a Texas based
organization helping to support and reunited families separated at our Southern border. More than 100 from around the country joined together to raise a grand total of $52,695 on Sat., June 23.

A new brewery is on tap for Chamblee. Brewer Chase Medlin will open Contrast
Artisan Ales this fall.

Alpharetta is getting Indian street food. A second location of Botiwalla will open at the Alpharetta City Center development this fall. Look for Mumbai inspired spicy lamb kababs, boozy slushies, and Indian inspired sodas that can currently be found at their Ponce City Market location.

Joining the new Botiwalla location in Alpharetta this November is Lapeer Seafood Market,
helmed by Executive Chef Andy Long (known for his Fry Guy food truck).

Hot Chicken straight from Nashville, TN is finally here! Hattie B’s opens Thurs., July 12 on Moreland Ave. across from Wrecking Bar Brew Pub. Hattie B’s serves hot chicken with varying levels of heat from Southern (no heat), mild, medium, hot, damn hot to the daredevil’s dream, and Shut the Cluck Up.

Bell Street Burritos is opening a fourth location later this year. Joining their Inman Park, Midtown, and Sweet Auburn shops, the latest in tortilla news is opening its doors at 4053 Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker at the former El Tapatio space.

Posi-vibes and healthy food headed to Buckhead. Flower Child opens on July 11 to serve up salads, healthful plates, and avocado toast daily from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. at 3400 Around Lenox Drive.

More choices for game day. You may soon clink glasses with a Cubano. Chef Hector Santiago’s El Super Pan is finally about to open a second location of his Latino sandwich shop at The Battery.

Taste beer by more than 30 breweries from Atlanta, Decatur, Athens,
Savannah, and more. Max Lager’s (320 Peachtree St. N.E.), Georgia’s oldest brewpub, hosts its third annual Old 320 Beer Fest. Sample brews from all over the state along with a Chef’s Tasting Room with small bites on July 21 from noon-4 p.m.

We’ve got a little secret. Alpharetta’s Secreto Southern Kitchen & Bar is opening a second location on July 11 in Brookhaven (3575 Durden Dr.). Chef Boyd A. Rose is serving up Southern charm, fresh from farm in dishes like his lump crabmeat bisque with basil oil.

Upon bumping into a bartender from Twain’s, we were told that Decatur Brewpub would reopen this Friday! For those of you who loved the vintage bathrooms, be ready for new ones that are so fresh and so clean clean... Also looking forward to that new patio!
