Unsane

Unsane has been cranking out devastating noise rock dirges for nearly 30 years. Born of the late ’80s/early ’90s NYC music scene that spawned Helmet, Prong, Cop Shoot Cop, and the like, singer, guitarist, and founding member Chris Spencer has continued to deliver brutal noise-punk driven by a life-or-death instinct. The group’s longest-standing lineup, featuring bass player Dave Curran and drummer Vinnie Signorelli, is on the road supporting 2017’s Sterilize (Southern Lord). Songs such as “Factory,” “Inclusion,” and “We’re Fucked” are a full-throttle embrace of Unsane’s primal instincts, maintaining the group’s trademark grinding distortion and teeth-gnashing rage with simple, powerful, real-time anxiety and catharsis. With Wrong, Pretty Please, Iron Whip.
