KEEPING IT REEL: Max Richter

German-British composer Max Richter is perhaps best known for his beautifully unsettling score to HBO’s The Leftovers. But Richter has carved a singular path through the modern landscape, blending both traditional and modern classical music stylings with rock and electronic music influences, culminating in a post-classical context. He cut his teeth while taking a deep dive into the music of Philip Glass, the Beatles, and Kraftwerk, and early in his career even collaborated with the likes of Roni Size and Future Sound of London. For this rare Atlanta performance, Richter is joined by American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), to perform selections from his acclaimed albums The Blue Notebooks (2004), and Infra (2010).
