Fulton County votes to phase out single-use plastics

The Fulton County Commission voted on Wednesday to eliminate “single-use plastics.” The move reflects a growing concern nationwide that straws, sandwich bags and other food prep items and containers are contributing to landfill and environmental problems. The fossil fuels used in their manufacture were also cited in the decision.
