Fri., May 24
Bubbapalooza no. 28 at the Star Bar
Bubbapalooza kicked off in 1991 (maybe ’92), as a gathering for Atlanta’s much ballyhooed Redneck Underground scene.

Each year, the festival returns to the Star Bar to celebrate the memory of Cabbagetown local and guitarist Gregory Dean Smalley of Redneck Underground rockers the Diggers. Smalley died from complications related to HIV in 1996. Bubbapalooza is also a barnburner of a good time. Rod Hamdallah and Rev. James Leg co-headline tonight, Friday, May 24. The Delusionaires, Ghost Riders Car Club, Andrea & Mud, and more play Saturday, May 25. Michael Tolcher, Blackfox, the Hills and the Holler, and more play Sunday, May 26.

Check out this week’s CL podcast with Rod Hamdallah.
