NEWS BRIEF: Affordable housing in Atlanta area not meeting demand, study says

The population of metropolitan Atlanta grew by 16 percent over the course of the past decade but the region’s number of housing units grew by less than 12 percent, from about 1.8 million units to under 2 million, according to an analysis of recent U.S. Census data. An article in Atlanta Civic Circle says the data “paints a troubling picture — one that underscores a grim future for housing affordability in metro Atlanta.” atlantaciviccircle.org
