NEWS BRIEF: Portman launches big multi-use development in Midtown

The first phase of a major development in Midtown is underway at the corner of Spring Street and 10th Street. Called 1000 Spring, the multifamily project by Portman Residential will have 375 residential units and 11,000 square feet of retail space. “The development will introduce stylish new residences, modern amenities, and carefully curated street-level retailers to support the local fabric of the neighborhood,” a press release said. The second phase is a 525,000 square foot office building and a repurposing of H.M. Patterson & Son’s Spring Hill Chapel. “With its landmark designation, the adaptive reuse historic home will become a venue with a food and beverage focus, including (a) new 225-key hotel.” portmanresidential.com/
