Workers in television and film production are organizing a strike for better pay and workplace conditions in case their demands are not met by a Friday deadline. Members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (I.A.T.S.E.) are in contract negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (A.M.P.T.P.) and say they are overworked and underpaid. Georgia’s economic development department says the film and television industry set a new record with $4 billion spent on productions so far this year. cbs46.com
