A number of local landlords are issuing multiple threats of eviction while charging tenants hundreds of dollars in extra fees, even as the government urges property managers to avoid causing hardship during the pandemic. Residents of the Brooks Crossing apartments south of Atlanta say the practice is now prevalent, according to The Philadelphia Tribune. Eviction notices were filed against tenants 427 times since April 2020 at the complex, more than at any other place in the Atlanta area. Brooks Crossing’s management company, Ventron, controls three of the 10 Atlanta properties in which tenants suffered the most eviction filings since the start of the pandemic. phillytrib.com
