Morris Brown College in Atlanta regained full accreditation status this week after having it revoked 20 years ago for financial mismanagement. The vote by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools means students at the liberal arts HBCU can apply for federal loans and Pell grants; it also could spur much-needed enrollment that declined dramatically following the revocation.

Morris Brown, which filed for bankruptcy in 2012, was named after a bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, founder of the college in 1881. It currently offers degrees in hospitality management, music and psychology, as well as certificates in business entrepreneurship, eSports and nonprofit management. apnews.com
