NEWS BRIEF: ‘Compassion’ festival set for May 20 in Grant Park
A ‘culture of care’ is the goal
A grassroots group known as Compassionate Atlanta has announced an upcoming festival in Grant Park that will offer programming and events spanning the performing arts, voting, healthcare and LGBTQ+ resources plus activities geared specifically to kids and teenagers.
CompassionCon 2022 will take place through a hybrid model both virtually and in-person at Grant Park... Friday and Sunday are virtual, and Saturday is in-person at Grant Park.
Scheduled for the weekend of Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22, CompassionCon is bringing together sponsors and attendees such as GPB, Paint Love, Emory University, Georgia Justice Project, Georgia Equality Foundation and Atlanta Pride. Organizers said their goal “is to help people realize that we must care for each other and build communities around a culture of care which supports everyone’s well being.” compassioncon.org
