The Brown in the South Supper Series presents: Desi Diner

On Sunday, January 14, head to Chai Pani Decatur for the first installment of the Brown in the South Supper Series, benefiting the Southern Foodways Alliance. Featuring celebrated chefs Meherwan Irani, Asha Gomez, Maneet Chauhan, Cheetie Kumar and Vish Bhatt, and hosted by John T. Edge, this new series of collaborative dinners spotlights chefs of Indian descent who have made the South their home, showcasing each chef’s culture, culinary heritage and cooking styles while focusing on Southern ingredients.

Vol. I: Desi Diner is a play on the Southern diner concept (think: masala meets “meat and three”), blending the soulful comfort foods of South Asia and the Southeastern United States. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a cocktail reception, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $95 per person and include one cocktail.
